Hand Dyed Yarn Shawl Fade Set - Blazing heat

This yarn shawl set contains 3 skeins of hand dyed yarn dyed in fade.

• First skein is a bright golden yellow with some red streaks

• Second skein is a vibrant orange with some yellow and red streaks

• Third skein is a tonal red with light and dark streaks

NOTE: the set on the photo is dyed on Donegal tweed, other yarn bases will NOT have multicoloured specks woven in the yarn.

This set adds up to 1200m (1311 yards) in fingering weight or 675m (738 yards) in DK weight. This set will make a wonderful fade effect in a finished item. I created it with shawls in mind to celebrate the release of "52 weeks of Shawls" book, but it will work perfectly for other garments.

Available on the following yarn bases:

• Fingering Donegal Tweed: 87% Wool 13% Donegal Viscose. this luxuriously soft yarn is spun with plant-based multi-coloured viscose neps that peek through the colour to add texture and variety to your finished project. Each skein is 400m (437 yards) / 100g (3.5 oz).
• Single ply/fingering merino/linen: 90% Superwash Merino/10% Linen Each skein is 366m (400yards)/100g (3.5 oz). This is a beautiful singly ply yarn with a slight pearl sheen. Linen adds a rustic texture to the yarn making it perfect for summer knits.

• 4ply/Fingering Sock: Superwash 75% merino / 25% nylon. Each skein is 425m (464 yards) / 100g (3.5 oz). This yarn is perfect for socks and for other lighter garments, for example, scarves and shawls.
• 4ply/Fingering BFL Sock High Twist: 80% Superwash Bluefaced Leicester/20% Nylon 365 meters (399yards) per 100g (3.5oz). 4ply/fingering weight. This is a high twist yarn that is very durable with remarkable stitch definition

• DK Sparkle Sock: Superwash 75% merino / 25% nylon. Each skein is 225m (246 yds) per 100g (3.5 oz). With a bit of sparkle it will make a beautiful luxury item

• DK BFL: Superwash 100% Superwash Bluefaced Leicester. Each skein is 225m (246 yds) per 100g (3.5 oz). This yarn is 100% British wool from mainland UK. BFL yarn does not need to have nylon in it to be durable and suitable for making socks which makes it a perfect alternative to synthetic blends. It is naturally strong and soft. This yarn is perfect for thicker socks and for other strong garments, for example, scarves, shawls, cardigans, hats.

• DK Superwash merino: 100% Superwash merino - warm, smooth and soft yarn that would work so well in hats, scarves, shawls and cardigans. The wool is mulesing free and comes from South America. Each skein is 225m (246 yds) per 100g (3.5 oz).

• DK Alpaca/merino Chainette: 84% Baby Alpaca, 8% Merino. 8% Polyamide. Each skein is 225m (246 yds) per 100g (3.5 oz). This is an incredibly soft yarn with a bit of fuzzy halo. Chainette structure makes it a pleasure to craft with, it expands in a stitch filling it with its fibres. It feels very soft and textured in a finished object which will instantly add unique features to the crafted item. Each skein is 225m (246 yds) per 100g (3.5 oz).

Disclaimer:

• The yarn is dyed in small batches and a few skeins might be ready to ship straight away. We dye the rest to order and need a few days to complete the work.
• Please note, that since the yarn is hand dyed, no two skeins are identical, and skeins from different batches may vary. If you'd like to use a few skeins for one garment, please buy enough in one go so we could dye it for you with as little variation as possible.
• We would be happy to wind your skeins into cakes at no cost, please leave a message at checkout if you'd like that. Otherwise your yarn will be shipped in skeins
• We use acid dyes that result in vibrant permanent colours. It is recommended to handwash a ready item in cool water with as little movement as possible for best results. Some colours may bleed at first wash.
